Program Manager

Title: Program Manager
Area: Program Team
Reports to: President
Leads: JA Programs
Status: Full-Time, Salaried


This position works closely with the education team and President to develop and implement the organization’s long-term strategies for program implementation and growth. Primary responsibilities include leading program implementation in area schools, assisting in volunteer recruitment, volunteer training and program management, monitoring programs for adherence to JA USA program implementation standards, and supervising the relationships with teacher/volunteer teams. The position also assists as staff liaison to volunteer/program board of director committees and JA USA. Program Manager should be a detail-oriented, organized person who enjoys simultaneously managing multiple projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and deliver program implementation with emphasis on quality and quantity
• Implement current and new programs per organizational Strategic Plan
• Develop community partnerships
• Assist and collaborate on implementation of experiential learning opportunities for students
• Assist in development of new strategic programming
• Actively participate in education community to assure JA’s position in statewide and local educational mindset
• Ensure accurate year-end program verification, registration and reporting to Junior Achievement USA

• Identify strategic corporate/business partnerships to secure program volunteers for the JA area
• Supervise development of volunteer recognition plan to ensure volunteer growth and retention
• Supervise implementation of volunteer training program

Management Duties
• Cultivate relationships with educators on JA board
• Attend area networking events as appropriate
• Assist in management and communication with program and volunteer committees
• Collaborate with Education Team, along with program-focused interns and work-study students

• Other duties as assigned, including some early mornings, weeknights and weekends (special events, operational, committee
leadership etc.)

Qualifications (desired)

• Bachelor’s degree, business, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of education community/organizations
• Detail-oriented, organized with exceptional follow up
• Strong oral/written communication skills are a must
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work with a variety of constituents
